Hi. I know there’s a good few discussions on Bola B7 wheels, but I could just do with some help if possible. I have upgraded my Griff hubs to 5-stud and am going B7 for the Spider look. It’s been suggested that an ideal general setup would be :

Rear
8.5” ET 33

Front
7.5” ET 26

The latter would apparently avoid fouling the lower wishbones (but is that just down to the ET or the 7.5 AND the ET?)

However, as I have decided against the Bola B7 17” rims as they look too shallow, that means that I’m going to have to go 18” all round, which are 8.5J.

When it comes to tyres, I was hoping to run a 245 45 18 on the rear and try to work in a little rake with a 225 35 18 on the front.

So, I guess I am asking if anyone with more experience of Griff hub upgrades and/or tyre & wheel setups can confirm that the following setup is okay:

Rear
18” 8.5J ET33 with 245 45 18 tyre

Front
18” 8.5J ET26 with 225 35 18 tyre
(rack stop required due to the 8.5J?)

If the above is ok, can anyone suggest a good tyre? Ideally I’d have one that has a rim protector type lip.

TIA all

Lee

It's 18 years since I did my wheel upgrade on my Griff however I think a 245x45 profile will be too large. I run 35 profile Toyos on 18" rims.

Ok, so I am about to push the button on the following, unless someone says "nah, they'll never fit, mate..."

Bola B7 114.3 PCD 18" 8.5J

Front:
ET26 with Uniroyal Rainsport 3 @ 225 35 18 97Y

Rear:
ET33 with Uniroyal Rainsport 3 @ 245 40 18 97Y

Answers on a postcard. smile
