Door locking remote control
Discussion
Same problem here - fitted new batteries but no improvement. Carl Baker is the expert and very helpful, call him on 0772 0723407. I have been told that the contacts gradually disintegrate, a common problem apparently. About £150 for two new reprogrammed plippers - slightly less if you have the code card.
Hope this helps.

My first griff was the first tvr i owned with a meta alarm.I always found it a right pain to lock the car(many attempts usually),but it was always easy to open. After 17 months of ownership,i finally discovered that i needed to hold the button pressed for a little longer to lock the car,i.e. a good second or so,whereas it always unlocked much quicker.Ive scince found this to be the case with my tuscan, and now my latest griff also,so it seems to be the way they normally work.
I must have looked a right t**t having to press the keyfob button 5 times at different angles around the car before the car locked. Then as with Mongoose, I discovered that if you hold the button down for a second or two, the doors lock first time. But thankfully it has taken me a lot less than 17 months to work it out!
BTW this is a 1998 car and has the Meta system.

.The trouble is that many people think that they're just tempremental and its a case of "they all do that sir".I fell for this, and consequently only found out by accident
