Sorry for the very basic question -
With a normal / standard factory set up , do the cooling fans overrun for a while once the car is turned off please ?
I ask because I have had a Griffith that had fans that overran for a while , but my current car stops the fans dead when the ignition is turned off. I would much prefer if they overran for a while.
Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Did your previous griff have slow speed and full speed fans, with run on ?

You can alter the wiring so that the circuit operates from a battery supply rather than an ignition supply
I doubt you will benefit from fan run on without also pumping the water around at the same time

Thanks for your replies. In all honesty I’m not sure what my previous Griffith had fitted. When I turned the ignition off The fans ran for a full cycle which seemed like a great idea. I just wondered if it was normal or if my current car should be doing it but for some reason wasn’t.
Now I know it’s normal for the fans to stop with the ignition turned off I’ll go with that.
Thanks again. Best regards.

Best left as is, too much messing about for little or no gain

Leave a hot engine to cook wiring and heat the cabin on turn off, um, I know I would prefer a run for one cycle. If you rewire so the fans are on a permanent supply, if they come back on, the alarm will go off.

To be honest now that I know my current car is doing what it should I will leave it well alone, my only worry was that I thought it should be doing something else - if that makes sense.
Thanks again for your help.
Best regards.
