Yes you must have the plastic thrust washers. The kit likely comes with thick and thin washers with 2 thick ones in a typical install. If you can get a thin one in as well do so. Sometimes you can only get a thin one in one side but still pack as much as you can in the other. If you don't use the washers the bush can squeeze out and distort.
Start with just the polybush stainless steel insert and make sure it fits into the mount ears. If not then the ears have been pulled in by the original bolts and now need opening out.
Get some M10 studding, some nuts & washers. Assemble it into the mount so the stud passes through one mount ear, a washer, 2 nuts, a washer, then the second mount ear. If you wind the nuts in opposite direction the stud will jack the ears apart. Go gently and test it out a few times until the SS sleeve just fits.
Then assemble the bush as above. Use plenty of the silicon grease on the bushes and copper grease on the bolts (the next person to dismantle will thank you).
