just wondering how many 4.3 litre Griffs are still on the road as the last time i saw one was the formula red beauty i got a passenger ride in last July!
all the rest i have seen have been 500's.

I've got one but it's not 'on the road'! It's in my garage on stands undergoing full electrics and interior overhaul plus miscellaneous other stuff. I did the chassis and running gear last year and no doubt this winter it'll be the bodywork. Then maybe I'll be able to use it!

Planning on an MOT in early June...

As I believe only about 700-800 4.0/4.3 griffs were ever built, over 13 years ago, some are destroyed, and whilst uk is smallish, 20 million other cars, means they are pretty rare. Only a couple of thousand (tops) 500's as well.

thanks for the responses gents, pleased to see people genuinely enjoying their Griffs!
Hoover yours is very similar to the one i passengered in last year except it didn't have the OZ wheels.
(i wonder if that one is still about the plates were J66 TVR if the owner is a PH'er or if anyone knows it i would be pleased to hear how it is running.)
many thanks.

The DVLA only show a total of 1105 Registered TVR Griffiths(500 ,4.x) in the Uk.Doesnt match what the Bible says at all which is 2400"ish" and teh 4.X where 600-700 as stated before.. SOme probably exported and some Trashed

Mine's still on the road, though too much time spent under lock and key. Growing family and wife is forcing sale. 1992 4.3 (BV conversion). On Pistonheads for sale. Suppose if no takers, just will have to get her Mark Adams'd - and frighten all those irrisponsible Weekend bikers who do 100 mph + on the A29 - even more!

I'm surprised there haven't been any - BV's are rare and desirable and yours looks nice. When enquiring about BV conversions I found insurance companies load them as modified (with enormous percent increases), but accept factory BV as a standard model - with accompanying lower premiums.

Ballistic Banana....

you'll probably find that numbers produced do not reconcile with the DVLA as they are not registered as Griffs......

we found a similar problem when trying guage this on the S forum sometime back....

My Griff is registered as

Make: TVR

Model:

ie no model listed, so it will not show up on the DVLA search
