My power steering pump is leaking significantly from the front seal. Are they a serviceable item or do I treat her a new one?

Hi Kev,

don't think there are any user repairable bits inside a PAS pump...

However, be careful where you source your replacement, I went through two from a very well known if not revered supplier before getting the expensive one from TVR Car Parts... The clue in the description is UK...

https://tvr-parts.com/tvr-parts/part-details/tvr-h...

Strangely, the steering was much, much lighter to the point of making the Griff react like a go-cart with the "original" pump and the 1st replacement, now with the pump above fitted, there is more weight and feel to the steering. The PAS pump had been replaced by the previous owner just prior to me buying the car, the supplier kindly replaced the pump under warranty (I had the receipt) but that went very noisy quite quickly. So I haven't really a beef with the supplier, but it was one of the £99+ VAT ones rather than a proper one...

Just my $

PS... I have no connection with TVR Car Parts Ltd.

Regards,

Brian (and a Green Griffith 500)

I replaced the pump on my 500 as it was very noisy and the steering had become very heavy.

However, the steering is Way too light, il call the suppliers on Monday.
