If its a genuine factory BV, the engine no. should end in a V. At one time, the factory would certify the original build spec for a fee of £35, but I don't know if they still do this. Getting the original sales invoice and/or order form would confirm this too. If its an aftermarket conversion, the invoice from the TVR agent that did the work, confirming it is to the factory BV spec. Otherwise, you need to take the engine to bits to find out.

The factory will still confirm if it is a genuine bv
i got confirmation from them for mine not long ago.
A charge of £35 is made but its worth it as evidence if you sell it.The v at the end of the serial number is also a guide.

The V on the engine number is not a guarentee. Best thing is to talk to the factory and ask the seller to prove that it is...
