Black mark on rear screen

A little while ago I polished the rear roof stays with Autosol or something and they are now leaving black marks on the rear window.
Can anyone tell me how to get the black marks off without scratching the plastic (tried fairy and lime shower gel - both of which normally get dirt off me really well!)

And what are you supposed to use to polish the alu bits on the Griff

I guess everyone has their favourite - Meguiars Clear Plastic Cleaner get my vote! Excellent way to remove all those inevitable superficial scratches/scuffs too. Apply in the shade and don't let it dry before you buff it off.

I posted a thread about this a while ago - had a sticky residue from an old sticker on the plastic screen. Anyway, acetone free nail varnish remover worked a treat on the plastic and didn't harm it at all. Er, borrowed it from my missus. Honest.

for the Renovo stuff, gets the rear screen looking like new but no doubt the nail varnish remover does a great job, I used it on my light coloured dashboard and it worked better than anything else.

I just use car polish, works great, not had the screen fall out, yet !

Come on guys - you should all know by now that Mike from The Polishing Company's products are excellent. They do exactly what he says they do!

303 Aerospace Protectant is the product you need - it get's rid of sticky stuff, black marks, fogging, makes the rear screen smoother and more supple and has a UV protector in it. You can also use it on your rubber seals, leather etc.

Ian - you should know better than anyone! Mike visits your East Mids meets fairly regularly.

Bring your car over and you can try some 303 on it. I guarantee it'll work. I've seen it done! The screen became nice and supple too.
