Hi all,

Looking at what it takes to add air con to my griff does look 'achievable' as a winter project.... (I've taken the pedal box/steering column out and replaced the brake master cylinder etc so I'm used to crappy jobs with this car)

My griff also has the recirculating flap by the battery so seems to be 2% there for a/c so any views on the following...

  • Find a donor heater box from an a/c car (drop in replacement with all the usual a/c components) (Guessing there really isn't much out there....)
  • Find a suitable 'universal' evaporator with the right size and drop into my existing heater box. Is the tuscan evaporator the right size ? Looks similar dimensions/proportions.
  • Go off piste aka OleVix
  • Take a 'universal' ac/heater box and slot the guts (heater+ac matrix) into the griff heater box.
Any view on any of these ?

Car's going into Matt Smiths on Wednesday for its service so I'll be tapping Matt up on his view too.

I've gone through many ac posts in gassing for both chimaera and griff and whilst technically its not that complicated, the main issue seems to hinge on what i want to do with the heater box that needs the most thinking..

Cheers

Ian

If Ian doesn’t take you up on the offer, I’d certainly be interested.

Thanks, Andrew

HI Neutral 3. I'll bite your hand off for that offer. Yes please.

I was trying to PM as I think you had the unit available in August but couldn't get my pistonheads account to work.

Good luck with the install Nick, let me know how you get on as I’m looking to do the same.

Before you install the parts, would you mind listing out each part needed for future reference? If you have part numbers that would be really helpful.

Thanks, Andrew.

Hi neutral 3

I still can't get the direct email to work and I'm waiting on Ben to fix it.

Can you try emailing me?

Regards

Ian

Hi Peter, hope all is well with you. I don't come on here that often these days it's just so quite.
Had a fantastic day at Snetterton yesterday, first one this year. Really good just to have a bit of fun with all the rubbish that's going on at the moment.
I need to get another one booked while I still can.
Have you had the Boxter on the track yet ?

Morning Trev!....At last a face to a name!

I finished at Snetterton just after we spoke to you in the paddock. I had hit the wall - struggling to stay awake almost.
Really enjoyed the day. My daughter and her chap were equally fired up. First time I'd tracked the Tuscan, so a good learning experience for me.
The BMW driver that followed me into turn 2 when I had a spin sent me some video. It was only watching the video that I saw the cement dust on the track....so guess that didn't do me any favours + coming on the throttle too early!!

Trev, don't know whether you were still chatting - but Mark mentioned that the Corvette had just taken a massive slide onto the grass - - must've been around 1515?.

Before lunch he came in to the paddock and there was a lot of smoke coming from his NS front wheel/brake. The variable butterfly/flap in the exhaust was also making a chattering noise....He was driving it like he stole it!
