Set off on a drive around the M25 in the wet on friday evening. When I arrived I found the cooling fans were staying on , even with the ignition off. I had to disconnect them from the power.
They stayed that way unitl this evening when after a long drive they had returned to normal.

I guess the wet had shorted somewhere. Anyone else had this? Any other ideas?

Could be sticking/welded relay contacts - this happened to mine. Check to see whether your relays are getting very hot (they will be "warm" when the fans are on - this will incicate arcing and possibly welding.

This happens with my Grif regularly, if you pull back the passenger footwell carpet covering the battery box and tap the top left hand relay sharply it usually stops, in extreme cases just pull the relay out and push it back in again. Really should fit a new one... one day when Ive got a week to spare!!

Many thanks. I will try that when it next occurs.
