Gearing on a 500.
Discussion
Think there are some figures in the “bible” but it will vary depending on the car. There are at least two Diff ratios and different tyre profiles will change things. Mine will pull at least 90 in third because that was my finish line speed at a recent hill climb. I have the higher geared diff fitted so I can pull away in first without lots of wheel spin.
There is a excel spread sheet that you can set all the variables to work out the gearing for almost anything in the tyre FAQ on www.tvrbooks.co.uk.
