Harness Recommendations
Discussion
Mine is a Willans with clip on ends so it can be easily fitted and removed. Harness is fine for the track but not so good for the road because you are not able to lean forward to see at junctions. When you get the harness check that the eye bolts for the lap belt fittings are long enough. The ones with mine were just a tad too short.
You need 1.5" eye bolts not the standard 0.75" ones that will come with the harness. The people who supply the harness will supply the longer bolts for a small fee if you ask nicely.
Edited to add: if you only buy one harness, make sure you get a rotary release style with separate shoulder straps and not the cheap-and-nasty center buckle ones with integral shoulder straps. Also think carefully about which side you want the buckle to be fitted, if it's on the inside of the car it can be awkward unless there's space for the buckle to fit between the seat and the tunnel, and if it's on the outside of the car it may damage the door opening unless there's room for the buckle between the seat and the door. This is quite sensitive to the type and position of the seat.

I've got four point Securons driver and passenger on my Tower View bar. Bought on spec and price - british made to BS this and that, eye-bolt fixings, just over £100 the pair, delivered. Handily they come with a leaflet proclaiming their legality for road use (apparently questions have been raised at MOT before).
Only drawback is the very long straps - designed for use in saloons, so I've had to coil the excess webbing and pull tie it. You MUST NOT cut the webbing...
Tower View said that some Griffs need the inner lap belt mounts moving (they weld a new mount on) further back other wise the seat won't clear the eye bolt when its slid back on the runners (I think that was the reason). My '92 was OK.
