Doors springing open :eek:

My woman, with whom I have 5050 ownership, takes the car out to take her daughter home, gets 50 miles down lots of roads, all fine, then doing roundabout at 20 mph "no more than...", says passenger door flew open, "Oh No. Erm. Did it HIT anything, Darling?!!!"

This motor's doors need SLAMMING and the boot needs PUSHING into the designated crevice alignments. But once closed they havent opned in almost 1000 miles in a week's ownership, and I couldnt stifle my weirdness at this faux pas, which OF COURSE my mysoginistic side was CONVINCED must have been cos her daughter MUST have pulled the lever. Nope, she says she did not and the doors were shut all the way there.

I'll reply to you Shadowfax - in short, no I havent had this problem!!

I have to admit my wife is a liuttle worried about life when cornering at speed - I have therefore introduced her to the central locking/security switch in order to pacify her (a little)!!

The doors on my Griff need a fair slam to get them to latch properly, but I've never had one come open on me...they just rattle when they are only on the first stage of the latch.

I have had the passeneger spring open by itself before.
The 3 allen bolts that hold the catch(u shaped bar) to the inner door wing had come loose and it wasnt catching fully. done them up with a bit of glue on thread and that sorted it.

BB - Ian & Glenn at "TorqueRVT" (see thread) have those doors closing with panache and they seem as secure as a Yale lock now. Mind you, Herself puts the central locking on automatically when she's in the PassengerDriver seat now. Just incase
