Classic insurance?

Hi, has anyone managed to get a classic policy WITHOUT the car having to be garaged? I've got quotes down to an acceptible (ish) level...just trying to follow every single possible route.

Yep ClassicLine insured my car ungaraged, around 500 notes on 3000 limited miles.

Thanks for that, i'll give that one a try. Oddly enough, Classicline refused me a classic policy (still quoted reasonably well mind). 94 Griff 500, 13K, limited mileage. Must be my area or something...

I think you'll find that there is an age restriction on Classic Car Policies.......

on the driver as well as the car

rodbloke good idea keep phoning around well worth it.My last insurance company (well known for advertising in Sprint) sent me a re-newal for £627 for restricted 5000 milesI gave classic Line a call and they quoted me £313 for EXACTLY the same covercheers.

Peart Insurance for us (they are in Sprint)- wife as main driver, myself as named driver,4000 miles p.a., garaged, fully comp,no convictions etc - cheaper than an MX5 at £380 p.a. !!! I know that this includes garaging but v cheap nonetheless...worth a shout?

Yes, Peart have given me my best quote so far...just over 600. I was told that isn't as a classic policy, (due to car being on driveway, not garaged) '94 500, 13K Value, milage restricted to 5000 p.a. 30, No claims/accidents, Full NCD mirrored from my daily drive. Its not too bad I guess...just suspect a classic policy would bring it down a bit.

I pay £310. agreed value 13k, 5k mileage p/a on a Dec 93 Griff 500.

I am 35. No claims or accidents and when i asked about the NCD they said it did not make any difference due to the classic nature of the policy.
The difference between a garage and not is nearly 50% discount for having a garage
