foam radiator tape

don't know if anyone out there can help me and i [i]think[/i] someone has posted on this subject before, but...

i have just had my radiator recored and am trying to get hold of some of the foam tape that you stick on the rad to cushion (seal ?) it from the bodywork.

not only do i not know where to get it from, i don't even know what it is!

does anyone have any ideas ?

i have already seen some stuff that is similar to the one on the Europa site but was slightly concerned about the operating temperature as some of the ones i have seen only go up to 80 degrees.

do you know if this is an issue or does the part of the rad that is in contact with the tape not get that hot ?

No, that's a fair comment - I'd expect the glue on closed-cell chassis foam to soften with heat and, obviously, the surface temperature of a radiator is going to hit 90 degrees-plus at times.

If you have to stick it to the rad (rather than the bodyshell, with the non-adhesive side in contact with the rad), then some plain closed cell foam (camping mat cut into strips, perhaps?) stuck on with epoxy might be better.
