Discs and Pads - Recommendations?

Looking at replacaing the front discs and pads. There's a bit of talk on here about buying TVR specific, however I found this place selling Black Diamond discs:

Does anyone have any experience of these?

Also looking at going for the EBC redstuff ceramic pads....

Any experience or other recommendations greatly appreciated

If you get Black Diamond pads, make sure they sell you the right ones - they listed the same pad for all Griffiths and Chimaeras, so if you follow the codes in the listing you will end up with pads for the pre-500 spec brakes (too small!).

Do a seach on the forum and you'll find this has been discussed before and the correct codes for the 500 brakes have been given.

Ballistic Banana's website now has the correct Black Diamond codes.

Fitted them to my car a few weeks ago, not done a trackday on them yet, but for general road use they are very good. Very responsive without grabbing.

yeh ive found that the initial pedal feel has a lot more bite with these and you dont seem to have that really hard pedal sensation on initial braking
im pleased with them so far although hav'nt done a track day yet

If you look at my profiles cost breakdown you'll find all part numbers listed (albeit for a 97 Chim - has Griff 500 brakes), including the correct part number for the larger pads.
I got front and rear for £287 inc p&p. though I only went for grooved rather than drilled/grooved.

You will need to remove the caliper spacers on the front as the discs aren't quite as offset as the standards.

Rear Discs (pt no KBD483-G12) £120 pair
Front Pads (pt no PP-276) £29 set
Rear Pads (pt no PP-408) £29 set

Part numbers are for the 260mm front discs and 273mm vented rears as found on all the facelifeted Chims.
NOTE - B/Diamond fitment chart currently states PP206 for front pads. These are pads for the 240mm discs, correct pads for 260m are PP276

Red stuff ceramic pads are great. I have them on my 500 and recomend them highly.

BD discs are good also. (don't get drilled though, as they tend to crack if you use them too enthusiastically...) I had grooved discs on my old Impreza. I'm not sure as they're really needed on the Griff, but I tend to drive it slower than I do the Imprezas

After close inspection of my discs, I think I will keep them for now as it seems a shame to change when there is such little wear.

I think I am going to go for the red stuff ceramics on the front and back.

I used to have the red stuff pads on mine, and they were superb. one tip i found out, is that you can buy direct from ebc

Don't go for the yellow stuff pads, unless you use them solely on the track. They need to be hot to work properly.
