Common oil leaks?

Adding to the catalogue of small ailments a 93k mile Griff suffers from...

Where are the common engine oil leak points?

Mine has covered the PAS pump side (NOT pas fluid) and around the left habd front of the engine with oil. Is this the rocker cover weeping a bit or something a bit more serious? There was also a bit of oil in the vee of the engine too.

It's not losing much oil at all. I have only put a cupful in between services...

I want the car all clean and shiny for the growl :)

..I just had my second sump gasket (err...I think) replaced in 2 months...3rd time lucky!!!

i thought they just used silicon sealant instead of a gasket????

Had my sump off over winter, there was a cork gasket under the smearing of silicon.

Suddenly got an oil leak from my Griff. Under the front end. Could it be an oil sump problem. If so, had anyone else encountered this and was it an expensive problem. My 94 griff is still under warranty, but don't this this will be covered.

probably the rocker gasket on that side.
most cars have a cork gasket silicon'd into the rockers. these can pop in or be a bad fit. if its not PAS fluid its almost defo this. nothing else gets that high.

other than that, spillage from a oil fill.

Distrubuter seals sometimes leak.

The copper washer on the sump plug too if its not been frequently replaced.

Rocker covers are a favourite though get the later rubber ones.
