What Tyres

Hello,

Its time to replace my rear tyres, at the moment they have Bridgestone S02's on, should I go for the S03's? or try something else. I sort of remember someone saying they weren't that good??

I ran Toyo's on my Griff, excellent tyre and a bit less expensive than others.

Another vote for the Toyos. Take about 500 miles to bed in but are great in both the dry and the wet.

Fazz81,
The Griff is used daily,, come rian or shine and they are bloody brilliant. Had Bridgestones on before and they are crap in comparison.
The Toyos also look very mean.
Would possibly try GSD's next once the Toyo's have worn out.

T1-S for track and T1-R for road?
The tread blocks on the S are continuous to the outer edge

don't go on track days so looks like the R's for me then.

Has anybody tried a Toyo front Bridgstone rear combination. As my fronts are also just about shot.

Don't go for the R's, choose the S's, IMHO a lot better. Have R´s now at the rear and so far don´t like them as much as the S´s I had before. But this is with 17inch wheels.

I've been using Goodyear GSD3 tyres, the rears offered good grip & traction, also lasted 18k. The fronts look like they've got 8-10k left in them. Intersestingly I had a go in a mate's Sagg on the Silverstone GP circuit on these tyres & was impressed by their perfomance & the ammount of tread that was left on them!

hear hear, my opinion is that the Goodyear out performs the bridgestone, for mileage, grip, and it looks awesome!

I am desperate to get hold of a Bridgestone so1 (205x55 zr 15"to match my other front tyre.
Anybody got one? .When sorting out tyres the softness of the compound has to be considered and the so1 is about 150 rating which is quite soft and good for Hillclimbing (more sticky). So2 are about 225(not as soft) and S03's around 300.The softer compound will not last as long but ideal for road race cars.
