Anybody had a screen replaced recently? What should I expect to pay and would a windscreen specialist be able to supply?

This thread may help Window replacement thread

One thing I would say is make sure they do a proper job and seal it well to halt the milky effect. Also make sure the numpties dont scratch the paintwork/leather. Best bet is to keep an eye on them as they do the job if you can. I am not saying all companys are bad but have heard of a few bad moments.

Just had mine done - 3 attempts by Autoarse could not fix it properly, eventually they paid for it to be done by someone else. If you live in NW I can tell you who did mine. Screen is £175 from dealers, £300 to fit.

Depends where you are based, I didn't want Autowhatever replacing it so got a proper TVR/Fibreglass body repair outfit to do the job, PR Wood motorbodies NR Southend did mine, excellent job, the price above sounds about right.

Hi BigB,

got mine done a few months back, RAC autoglass in Bradford did it and did a splendid job!! I got it through insurance for the standard £50 but was quoted £400 as a standard job. The main dealer told me they would have to use the existing rubber surround as they are really hard to replace but mine was very perished and the guy at AG managed to change it. Top job (for a change)very happy.
