Gear linkage/New Clutch Question!

Hi, wondering if anyone out there can offer me advice on fitting a new clutch to my 97 griff 500 (t5 box), got as far as undoing the gearbox but cant drop it down because the linkage wont pull loose even though ive taken the 13mm fixing bolts out. I think the linkage joints are sleaved but they wont push out!! Any advice will be greatly recieved!

Yes it is sleeved, there is a black plastic sleeve that fits through the rod and the gear change leaver on the box. I had to take the tunnel out on my Chim to get access to it, then used a screw driver to push it out. It is possible to do it from underneath the car, but its a pain. Also the next problem you may have is the gearbox corroded to the bell housing, the gear box is steel and the bell housing is ALU. This caused much swearing when I did it.

FAO jonny b, Thanks!!!!! pressed the plastic sleaves out from under my griff! took some doing! 7mm 1/4" socket did the trick with a carefully placed pri-bar! Gearbox was heavyer than i thought! just hope it goes back together easier!

It pulls up on the 4 bolts quite easly, dont forget a smear of copper slip on the input shaft. It might also be a good idea at this point to swap the drain plug in the gear box for a magnetic one. Also dont forget to smear some lithium grease on the gear box to bell house mating surfaces, makes it easyer to get apart next time. Also if your feeling flush, its a good time to replace the fuel lines (as you have easy access to them all), some nice stainless steel braided ones look the dogs!!

'bin meaning to ring you but tempus fugit. Did you decide to go to the Growl?? Not sure if theres hotel spaces left or not. If you go any chance you can bring the heel pad we talked about? I got the mats as we discussed and they look good so far but you can never be sure.
