Cleaning a fresh respray
Discussion
I believe you should not wax it for a few weeks at least, apparently the new paint needs time to breathe. Normal washing is fine. You shouldn't need to polish fresh paint as the bodyshop will have already done that. My advice would be to keep it clean, and then give it a couple of layers of a good wax in a couple of months time.
Hi, want to share a photo?
Autoglym is great, easy to use, all you will need.
Make sure you get some touch up paint.
Touching up is a bit of an art, you can get it perfect if you add paint, then locally abrade back using 1500 grit or finer, finish with T Cut scratch remover.
Best of luck

Hi,
My car has just had a full body respray.
I am purchasing Autoglym and very good quality mitt and clothes.
What is the procedure for keeping he car clean. I'm guessing a wash every couples of weeks or so and the a wax when needed.
Do you ever really need to polish?
Cheers,
Martin
You cant really post on here about having your car fully re-sprayed without posting pictures & telling us who did it!!My car has just had a full body respray.

2k takes upto 3 months to fully cure, even if it's been baked in an oven so don't apply any sealers or waxes during that period.
After 3 months you may find there's some areas that have died back and need machine polishing so before you wax or whatever go round the vehicle, preferably under fluorescent lights and look for any defects.
Once any rectification has been done give the car a good decontamination, machine polish the whole car and then a ceramic coating would be my preference
