Alarm buttons

A question regarding the alarm in a 96 Griffith where I assume that alarm is a standard Meta one..however I am not too sure.
The remote has 3 buttons. The (lower) middle one (call this button A) is the boot release, the one to the left of that (button B) activates/deactivates the ignition and locks/unlocks the doors. It's the one to the right of the boot release that interests me because everytime I depress it.. the alarm goes off. I'm not to sure if this is normal.. or there is a fault is what may be the system. The fact that button B arms and de-arms the alarm correctly makes me think that button C is a tad superfulous.

Any ideas on what it does. Thanks

It sounds like a panic button. You know, if your being attacked or jacked, hit the button and draw attention to it in order to get some help!

Also, I don't think this is the standard alarm that came with your griff.

Ok... I wasn't sure. There is Laserline T-103 written on the back of the remote.. but haven't found the alarm CU yet (only had the car 4 weeks!). Thanks
