First day I've used the Griff for work after putting the engine and gearbox back in.

Filled the boot with spanners, socket set, oil, cable ties, gaffer tape, electrical cables, crimp tool, jack you name it I had it - APPART FROM WATER AND A LENGTH OF COOLANT HOSE FOR THE PLENUM HEATER.

GUESS WHAT ???!!!


.....BLOODY HOSE ON THE PLENUM SPIT NEAR THE MANIFOLD AND PISSED MOST OF MY COOLANT OUT

Had to coast to a halt at some lights, next to a bunch of tts in a 4 door 3 Series BMW laughing like a bunch of gibbons. Could have used the gaffer tape and jack handle I guess, if only to beat the in smile off their stupid childish faces while I taped them to the nearest lampost.

Nice man from the RAC had some water and we got her going again.

Kind of spoiled my journey home especially considering I had the heater full belt making sure there were no more air locks. Bit hot under the collar to say the least.

ps. Took a look at the Vid of the S today - WOW!

I'd be proud of your fuel bill I love the fact that the car is GREEN, here was me thinking that GreenV8S was gas converted or ran on rice wine or summin'

Sorry to hear that and glad you got it sorted..but shouldnt you have air hoses going into the Plenumnot water

I often look at the old pics of my S3 god knows where it is now, havent seen or heard of it being anywhere

Hi BB, water hoses go to plenum to help heat up incoming air to aid fuel vaporisation,Regards dave

Wouldn't have made much difference last night. All the hoses had air in them
