Heat shield thread?

I have bought some new heat shield material for the sides of the engine bay but I don't know where to get some suitable thread (to sew the edges over) from.

Has anyone done this before? Do I need to glue the shield to the body? If so, what glue?

Help would be greatly appeciated, it has been too long since I drove my lovely Griff :(

I didn't bother on mine. I just turned the edge over and used some spray adhesive from agrimach to hold it. I then pop riveted it on with repair washers.



I used some cool tape from demon-tweeks to seal the edges and black silicon on the top to stop water getting behind it.
