Bought a new toy today! A 1994 pre-serp 500, burgundy with doeskin interior, T5, non-PAS and generally in good condition. 39k miles. Appears to drive and run perfectly, but has a few (mostly common) gremlins.....

Wipers don't park, hot air through vents, leaking hood (and damp carpets) - all curable I hope with the excellent advice in the archives.....

More interestingly, if the ignition is switched on but then off again without starting the engine, it stays on even when the key is removed. Even a momentary crank on the starter returns it to normal though. Has anyone seen that before?

Can't wait to go back to pick it up next week, although straight afterwards I'm going away with work for 3 weeks so I won't be able to play with it. Boo.

Looking forward to seeing lots in Stratford tomorrow though - we passed a convoy of ~8 Griffs on the A41 today while going to see the car which was a good start to the day!

Had similar on a Wedge - Could be the diode pack in the alternator packed up. This will allow current to flow backwards (only a trickle) keeping the ignition light on. It will eventually drain the battery.

Yup, Mine did this for a while until Steve Howard sorted it out. It seems that a relay that I put in to sort out a fan should have been 5 pin rather than the four pin that was pin in.... First time I heard Steve say F**k..
