HOW LOUD?

Hi,

In response to the question posed, these are the measured volumes taken at the Growl on Saturday afternoon. I'd like to thank Al Toomey (rev-erend) of the Wedgers for the use of his instrument (Matron!) and expertise.

These are the results:-

I've removed registration numbers where incriminatory ;)

Well done lads, but the Wedgers are significantly LOUDER, Pistolar coming in at over 117db.

So, thanks for revving your steeds, you now know how much wadding to stuff in for trackdays. ;)

104.8 for me not bad as seen as all its had is the straight through pipes put in through the Box(thanks offords)

it might not have been that car - looks very similar - it was in viper blue/purple, had a 5.3 litre engine, NOS, bonnet vents, is the car in this photo with all the people looking at it:

As Viper's already wondered into your forum thought I would as well.

Perhaps I should put the cats back in the viper as I have measured 105 db in the passenger seat at full chat across the car park with the windows down.

The guy holding the sound meter ducked for cover on a static test when giving it large on the loud pedal. Last reading he saw before running away was 134 db

So, who did what to achieve these noise levels?

Straight through pipes in the REAR (as Rev likes to tell me off for calling it) Box ( and of course he is right as thers only one box )
Put a few of them pre-ctas to shame
