Couple of Questions for the Experienced Griffers Out There..

Feel a bit guilty coz I STILL havent posted any pics and tend to receive rather than give on the forum side of things but I would very much appreciate a bit of advice on a couple of small problems:
1. My outside door catch: Fantastic weather today, perfect Griff smile day. Roar of the V8, loads of sun, pub lunch. Went to get back in the car, press down the external door release and it gets stuck, now wont work at all....seems like the spring might have gone but looking at the door cannot for the life of me how to get access...Steve Heath bible still has not been delivered!!
2. Any advice on best place to get a paint job? Seagull shit has eaten away at my offside and need to get it re-sprayed but worried about matching the paint...might get the nost cone done at the same time so looking for somewhere professional

Not sure how far south west you are, but TVR Bodyshop in Nailsea have a good reputation.
As for the door catch, the carpet to the side wall behind the seat is held in place with velcro. Peel it back to reveal the lock mechanism. Its a very basic mechanical lock so you should be able to see what has fallen off.
If you do a search on the forum, i believe Ballistic Banana posted a similar problem recently.

Autoglyms Paint Restorer is also good.
I had some wood stored at high level in the garage last year. Sap had dripped onto the Griff rear wing and boot lid, dried and got into the paint finish. Washed off but the blemish was still there.
Stripped the built up wax. Used the restorer in a linear method, as directed, light pressure to see if that works and then more pressure as reqdv if the mark still remains. Then lots of elbow grease using Autoglym standard Wax. Takes a few goes, but the Wax buffing finally removes the small scrathes left by the restorer on the surface.
Took a while, Highly recommended and no wood at high level now!

I had some birds muck marks on my car which the previous owner had just whipped off....... left looking like someone had been at them with a scouring pad.
With some Maguires Polish (not cheap wax/polish stuff...but polish) managed to polish them out took some time though...... then finished off with a good wax...
un-noticable now.
