squeaky door!

This sounds simple enough but I can't seem to solve a very squeaky driver and passenger door. Squirted WD40 on all of the hinges...so I presume the culprit may be coming from inside the hinge/door?

Anyone had any experience of this minor problem?

Solution? No!
It seems to happen in hot weather and has a rather plasticy quality to it so I wondered if it could be due to expansion of the fibreglass bodywork in the heat. Unfortunately no amount of WD40 fixed it for me either.
Not cool when someone asks for a ride in it & the doors sound as if they are giving you a high pitched raspberry - does not impress the girls!
Solutions, if anyone has any, please?

I think the problem is that the hinge pivots are bolts. When the bolts stay still and the door pivots on the bolts all is well. When the bolt sticks in the door and pivots on its thread (ie the bolt pivots on its thread as you open/close the door) it starts to squeak. You can try getting inside the door void and loosening/tightening the pivot bolt - but of course this moves it on its thread so there's no guarantee it won't just carry on pivotting on the thread. It's also an almighty pain to get a socket on the lower bolts.

Mine's a lot better since getting inside the door, doing the above, and making sure the bolts are tight enough without being too tight - then soaking the lot in WD40, but at least one bolt is still pivotting on the thread.

Thank goodness for that, I thought my old 400 was the only Griff to suffer the embarrassment of squeaky doors in hot weather.Very when getting out of the Griff with a pub garden full of people watching you on a balmy evening.

Try a silicone spray
