Found a website that listed this for the Griff 500.
Magneti Marelli Type A127-65

Any ideas where to get a recon?
What's the landrover part i seek

Any Rover V8 compatible alternator will do (presuming you have the serpentine belt engine?). Unless you're running current hungry stuff like heated seats and / or air con, even one from a Land Rover would probably be OK, an 'uprated' one isn't necessary.

So the standard 65amp one is ok, it doesn't need the 100A version?
Reading through the archives I think it was suggesting serp engines needed the 100amp, but i couldn't see why either.

My car has no luxury bells and whistles, just a few performance upgrades (which Im now too old to take advantage of anyway!)

I bought a 120amp alternator. No problems with it. Seems the leccy system works better.
