Clutch Noise

Hi folks, On depressing the clutch pedal whilst my 4.0 precat griff recently I noticed a noise -Like a spring stretching! sound. The clutch operates fine just the same as before the noise appeared--any ideas
apart from turning he radio up.

sounds near the pedel end- Ive greased the linkage inside the car, but not touched anything under the car

There are no moving parts exposed under the car really. The actuating arm is inside the bell housing and there are no springs on it.
Obviously the Clutch pressure plate has springs in it.

There is a return spring inside the slave and I think there is one on the top of the pedal and inside the master cylinder.

May be worth having a look with a torch in the foot well to try and locate the sound more accurately.

At a guess, the pedal mechanism needs some grease? It may be as simple as it sounds, the clutch pedal return spring shifting slightly on the pedal and making that noise. Dab of grease would sort that out.

Thanks for that Ill try some more grease on the linkage at the weekend.

Not sure about that just check.

Mine has a gapping hole in the belhousing, big enough to get your hand through (well mine anyway). Sometimes after a very wet run I get strange noises and a juddery peddle feel. Fixed with a squire of WD 40 on the release bearing and shaft, be careful to avoid drenching the cover plate though.
