Hi. Now the Griff is 30 years old i want to replace the two veneered panels that are cracked. Basically what are steps and pitfalls to carry it out. All instructions and tips greatly appreciated. Dave.

Hi Dave

Just contact TVR Mads. They purchased most of the stock panels when the factory closed. Brand new panels in the colour of your choice for £300. Not worth the hassle of recovering your own. Just had mine done.

I did the dash on my wedge with a £10 roll of glossy sticky backed wood effect plastic wrap and no-one has ever noticed until I tell them!!

Did you have to remove dashboard?

I've recently reveneered a Chimera Dash and radio panel for a friend, it's easy enough to do, sand off the old veneer with 60 grit paper on a random orbit sander, degrease thoroughly, apply a layer of epoxy adhesive to the dash and position on the veneer, apply weight over night. I then sanded the veneer gently with 240 grit, sealed it with sanding sealer, , another light sand with 240 grit, tack rag off to remove any dust then 4 coats of 2k lacquer. Machine polish if needed .
When I can post pictures (newbie, cant upload anything for 2 weeks) I'll upload some, I've done a few Lotus dashboards over the years as well
