Painting a Griff

Has anyone had any experience painting a griff in anything other than two-pack? cheers John

Not sure if this is what you are after... I was tipped off to try clear coating wing mirrors with cellulose lacquer - colour looks a bit different but the softer paint has not attracted the chips that the original did... so far.

If you dont mind me asking why would you want to paint it in anything other that 2k?

I was contemplating a respray myself after major body repairs {not having painted a car for 20years} and remember the hassle and danger of using 2pack at home, I thought that maybe there was an option but it looks like it may be a trip to the local sprayshop. Any advice or experience appreciated. John

Although mainly an engine builder, i am trained in paintwork, using 2k every now and then will not kill you!! although you must wear a suitable mask and make sure you are in a well ventilated area, it is far easier to use than cellulose but if you need to do any flatting or polishing afterwards it is much harder
