Paint on my Griff

Hi all, I have a new to me Blue Griff that I would like to touch up (the paint guys!!!!!!!!!)The log book and service book state avus blue. This seems a bit vague to me is there a process of how I can get the exact code from TVR??

Sadly not it says Avus but the TVR Code field is blank as is roof colour code, carpet and trim codes. Harrogate Horseless carriages were the original suppliers.

Ello...same colour as mine...BMW colour, ordered a touch up stick from dealer a few wks ago (not got it yet...), quoted ref p422-pt17b.Think thats right....anyone else confirm?

If it is any help Avus blue is also an Audi colour. This should allow you to start the process of paint matching with colour swatches.

Halfords (Dont Laugh) are actually now mixing colours for aerosol and touch up paints in store in about half an hour so for small amounts this can produce a good service.

Other than that if it isnt audi or bmw, go to your paint specialist and he will match for you.

Re my paint I work at BMW and dont seem to recognise it as a BM colour. I seem to recall that Avus blue was a colour widely used on E36 M3`s? If this is what is being referred to I definately think its the Audi Version. To get the definitive do you think the factory will assist if given the chassis number? I have also joined the TVRCC, do they interface with Blackpool as a member service I wonder? Any further views.

There should be an ICI paint code under the bonnet..... with this code you can get a small pot of paint mixed up to match the code..... its ok solong as the car has not been resprayed a diferent colour.

Your local 'Chips Away' or similar independent will make you up a small quantity of paint which they will colour match specifically to your car.

Mine cost £5 at a local independent.

Did you get any results re your paint code? If not try this:
I had to have a 1/4ltr made for my own "nose job"
When i went down to the local specialist paint suppliers they told me to have a "wizard test" which was a machine set on the car that gave me exact quantities of colours my paintwork was consisting of. The test cost £4! so well worth it and the results are that i now own the paint breakdown for 1ltr of Paris blue....

little did i know until i had this done that it was a Vovlo colour! But well worth doing.

I would early love to be there next year - might seriously consider it if you bring the Griff to the 'Ring with us!
I suppose Az and I could pop down to Maison Blanche on the Friday evening - back Sunday night?
