Right Price for a 1992 Griffith 4.3 Pre-cat??

Unfortunately the time has come to sell the Griffith I never thought I'd say this, but 'new baby forces sale'. Previously, the Griff was my baby, but now the new addition has arrived, I just don't get the time to drive/tinker with the Griff. I've had it on Pistonheads for a few days, but haven't had one enquiry yet, let alone viewings:

I've priced it at what I think is reasonable, based on the other 4.3s I've seen on here, but I wonder whether I've actually pitched it at the right price? I didn't want to pitch it too high and put people off, but at the same time, I didn't want to pitch it too low and put people off that way. Has anyone got any suggestions/advice on what price I should be aiming for?

I love this car, and it will be a sad day when somebody actually drives it away, but I would rather it went to a good home than sat in my garage not being used. It just loves to be driven!!

I would have thought you'd struggle at this time of year at that price .. the roof looks to need refitting at the back (unless it's an optical illusion) and a 5 litre is the same money these days for an early one, a much better car. a friend of mine juts bought a 4.3 for 9k aswell and it's not a bad car by any stretch ..

in it's favour, you're obvioulsy an enthusiastic owner yourself so no doubt servicing and fault fixing will have all been done quickly and efficiently, mica blue is a nicer colour than all the other griffs/chims of that age (usually cooper green, boring), you've not cut costs on tyre choice ( a dead giveaway for a car that's run on a limited budget) and there's a genuine reason for sale.

sadly it's winter, i'd say it'll sell at £11500 ..

I would have thought your spot on on price...but as I'm sure your aware its not a good time to sell. I'd hang on till the spring if you can when I'm sure you'll have more look. You might even change your mind

For a 4.3 thats as good as yours is advertised,i'd say your price is good,i certainly wouldn't lower it.In the ad i see a car thats well looked after(waxoyled regularly,ftvrsh)and also is an excellent colour combo as Jools says.Its just the time of year thats the real problem i'm afraid,you couldn't pick a worse time to sell.You need to be more patient than just waiting a few days and expecting responses.I would sort that hood fitting as Jools suggests though.I wouldn't lower the price as it'll sound too cheap to be a genuine'good un'.Any real enthusiast will not expect you to be giving it away.Have you tried advertising in the car club magazine also?If i wanted a proper one it's the first place i'd look.

Right colour, right history, right mileage (not too low, not too high), right price I reckon. Just don't expect to sell a TVR overnight! Let alone at this time of year. There seems to be a strong and steady market for the precats, especially the 4.3 which these days is rather rare (if that's what you've set your heart on). I'd take it over a 500 any day. Good luck, and don't rush; someone will come along.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I feel a bit more comfortable that I've pitched it in the right ball park now. Obviously the price is negotiable to any sensible/serious buyers, so if you know anyone after a good 4.3
