high tickover

Hi, I am still getting used to my new 4.3 BV, and enjoying the ridiculous overtaking abilities. I have noticed that the tickover often sits at 2000rpm when releasing the throttle, then lowers to 850 over a few seconds (10?). Is this normal? If not, what might be wrong. It actually drives really well, so can't be too much!

Clean the stepper motor.Loads of previous threads on here about it.Glad to hear your enjoying the griff

as mongoose says it most likely to be the stepper if cleaning doesnt work you may need a new one not uncommon but they are not too expensive at around £60 for a new one
