darkening the wood veneer

After finding that the auto window closure box wasnt glued onto the heater control panel,but attatched with sticky foam,i removed the ugly blighter.Trouble is i now have a lighter patch where the sun hasn't been able to darken the wood,in the oblong shape of said little box,that i'd like to sort out.How can i make this piece of the veneer darker so that it doesn't stand out,without damaging the finish of the veneer?Any help much appreciated,cheers,Mike

I moved mine within days of getting the car, i was lucky having an ally dash, just a bit of spit and polish ! I moved mine to the top of the steering binacle, still need to dis-arm it as when leaving the car with the roof down, i think with the windows up,it looks horrible. Oh we are so fussy, us TVR people. But to answer, a sun lamp ? Mask out the other bits, leave for four weeks.

I could never understand why they put the switch right next to the std window switches.I've hidden mine under the gearstick gaiter,so i can get to it in an emergency(cant think what that'll be)but in the meantime its out of sight.
