Quick Battery Question

If its a fully sealed unit, do you need a venting pipe?

The answer is simply that if the battery has provision for a vent pipe,then use it,as the gasses will escape into the cockpit otherwise.I would think most sealed types do,mine did(delphi freedom).

Doesn't "sealed" really just mean "non-refillable". There must still be somewhere for gases to go otherwise they could potentially explode. However, some have vent pipes and some don't. They don't really need a pipe in most cars as the gas would go into the engine bay.

Lazy,

If you have bought the 7AA battery then it has vents either side at the top of the battery.
It comes with a handy Red plastic plug to fit in the unrequired side.

Mine's sealed - as in you can turn it upside down with no leaks! I didn't believe the motor factor, so he demonstrated, and sure enough no drips.
