Just thought I would shout about some good service & repairs at a damn decent price. I live in Thame Oxfordshire and was looking for someone locally to look after my Griff.
I purchased the car with an armful of repairs needed, some big and some small, some I could do myself.
To list just a few items,
Wheels refurbish
Exhaust Manifolds cracked and blowing
Drivers door split and falling off
New carpet set and seats.
Hood split open
Shocks replace
Dash out
Brakes needed renewing
And the list goes on..
The exhaust manifolds were blowing like you would not believe having been welded up 9 times by the previous service agents, so this was one of the first jobs.
I purchased a pair of Stainless manifolds from Peninsula which would need some fabrication to match up to the existing exhaust system and so decided to put it into a local repairer called Timberlake Motors (Ian Timberlake).Ian is a fully trained V8 Dutton Foreshaw technician with years of experience and has been working on various TVR's over the past few years.
Before taking the car in I noticed that on the service sheets that one of the starter bolts was rounded off 3 years ago and would need the engine out (the bolt was almost non existent) and so was another job for Ian.
To say I was concerned about the repairs was an understatement,
Here's the good news.
Ian fitted the manifolds replaced the engine oil and filter checked the brakes drained the gearbox oil and replaced including the filter, he also replaced the diff oil.
The engine didn’t have to come out as he was able to remove the bolt with the most extensive tool kit I have ever seen. The final bill was beyond belief and value for money, I couldn’t believe it £2**.
I have since used Ian for some of the more awkward repairs and each time received top quality workmanship at great prices.
So if you want any repairs and are looking for good repairs at sensible cost drop me an email, or I could put his phone number on this link, but someone will have to let me know if its ok to do this.
For me it has made TVR ownership affordable.
