I don't know it but have watched several auctions for it. It never meets reserve, always stopping short of £10k. IMHO it's a nice colour, has desirable cross-spokes, a good history (though the last three years may be a mystery), low mileage and dealer (well trader) back up. Check out what else he's got for sale - I'm sure a Griff is well within his capabilities for pre-sale preparation, could be a really good car. But I wouldn't bid without viewing.

£13,200 on the forecourt is interesting. I guess thats about right considering a dealer markup but too pricy for my money. Wonder if thats the only reason he clearly cant sell it.....

Too pricey with that lack of service history imho.

I am not 100% but with the location it may be PH'er Vodkakids old Griffith so may be worth contacting him to ask as I thing if it is he may enlighten you to some of its history .

Well to his credit the seller replied and seems to know a little about the car and the brand. Also stated it was £13,200 on the forecourt - would accept £12,500 apparently....

If it was closer I would go and have a poke around before making a silly offer

i dont think its worth £12500 there are what seem to be better examples on autotrader for similar money, go private and you might find a 500 for that money.

I disagree...... decent 4.3 pre cats = 500 money.........

Maybe I'm biased..... but I found that when I bought top notch pre-cats going for the same money as 500's approx 3 newer....

Me too - but if the ebay car has nothing to hide - and even better if it's got history for the last three years, just not TVR main dealer, I'd say £12500 is right on the money. If it's really good, it could even be cheap. 500's might be 'better' cars, but (as these threads show) precats have their own appeal and their own following. History tends to judge the early, pure models (of any car) classic first, despite 'character' which might be overcome by subsequent development. See 'E-type', 'Beetle', 'Corvette', 'Escort' etc... If you're main concern is resale, I'd go for a precat as they're relatively rare in addition to definitely being 'classic'. That's not to say I think 500 values are going to do anything different, just that an outstanding precat is likely to be a rarer car than a 500, and will stand out more come resale.

They are both ultra rare. ie 4000, ferraris a year, 10'k's etypes, etc,etc.
Relatively simple mechanically (bonus for a classic) and very pretty...

I saw this one a month or two ago, priced at £15k, in the same dealer. The under bonnet shot shows a lot of rust on the shockers, I did not look based on this alone, call me fussy!

Selling a car like that on eBay is daft IMHO. eBay motors is not only full of 'geezers' but they only want cheap.

I asked Andy but it wasnt his as hes was a lowley 4.0
If i get the chance I'll pop in and have a gander as its not to far from me and I am sometimes that way with work.
