Can anyone tell me if they have bought an oil pressure sensor lately(the one for the oil pressure guage 0 to 100 psi)and were did you get it.
It does not seem to be of a Rover. It is the one above the oil filter
I have a V8S but I would think it is the same as the Griff.

Does the gauge use the same sender as the warning light?
My car ( 92 4.0 ) has very poor oil pressure. I know Rover V8's are famous for low pressure, but this is silly! When cold, the pressure struggles to reach 25 psi. When warm, its about half that. The engine appears to be in good health otherwise, has done less than 60,000 miles, and has been reguarly serviced its whole life. ( no track use as far as I know ). Is this likely to be a genuine pressure requiring rebuild, or is it worth changing the sender?

In my car the sender is seperate to the oil light. The sender is above the filter body and mine is jumping about and wont give a steady reading. Am hoping it is the sender. For your problem that happened in my chim and the pressure would not go over 25psi, changed the sender and pressure back to normal(brought a smile back to my face).

If you suspect oil pressure get it checked ASAP mechanically. It might be the engine on its last legs trying to tell you something.
As for V8S sender... no it's not a Rover one and I would suggest getting one from TVR as there are quite a few variations caused by changes in the instruments.

Behind the filter, there is a sender that does the light. This appears to be working correctly ( anyone know what pressure it should switch at? ).
Having had a good look round, I could not see another sender. Is it in the same area ( near the filter ) or elsewhere?
( Did see some other interesting things like a hole in the exhaust manifold, and a perrished water pipe etc to add to my list.... The Joy of Griffith!)
