Battery life...

Is 3 years 2 months a reasonable lifetime for a Griff battery? Or have I potentially got (yet another) niggle to fix?

The car is used daily, so no sitting around for weeks.

If mine last 3yrs i will be replacing it, for the sake of £50 odd

Mine's lasted for over 4 years now. Am I asking for trouble keeping it? Does the alternator get overworked if you keep a battery "too long"?

Batteries should last 4 or 5 years+, but their lives are shortened by raised temperatures leading to increased plate corrosion. In seriously hot countries batteries are often an annual service item...... Shouldn't really be a problem in the Griff footwell compared to the engine bay of most cars however.

If your battery is knackered after 3 years and it's been charging properly it would imply it wasn't perhaps in the best state to start with? I guess batteries also vary significantly in quality but I'd expect more than 3 years even out of the cheapest.
