A new(ish) Griff owner

Hi All,
I've been lurking around in the background on this site for several months now and thought it was about time I introduced myself.
In May last year I took the plunge and bought a 2000 Griff in what I am advised is 'Halcyon Midas Pearl', but to everyone else is a bright metallic yellow that can look orangey when the sun catches it. I'm no mechanic so I used the services of Rob Ingleby to inspect it. He gave it the thumbs up so I went ahead and 8 months later I'm here to tell the tale. (By the way I can't recommend him highly enough. If anyone is thinking of using him it'll be the best money you ever spent).
Well I got to use the car in the best of the weather and what can I say, other than there is nothing I have ever driven that comes remotely close to the experience of driving this. The power, noise and the sheer feeling of being alive as you accelerate off in to the distance. Of course now the weather has turned I've had the odd scary moment (the rear wheels wanting a turn up front) so I'll be taking it easy until the sun comes out again.
In the time I've had it I've not had one problem, much to the annoyance of colleagues who told me not to buy one as it's bound to end in tears. Apart from petrol and the odd bit of oil I haven't had to spend a penny. The service and MOT is due next month though so we'll see what that brings!.
I'll try and make the Growl meeting this year (the photos from last years look too good to miss) so I hope to meet a fair few of you eventually.. I've joined the owners club as well so I'll try to make it along to those meetings as well..

The griff growl was great last year,it's definately not to be missed.You ought to get a picture of that lovely car up on your profile,so we can all see it

Similar to us as we got ours in May and have now done 10,000 miles in it!! I started off thinking about keeping the mileage low etc but as it was too much fun, SOD IT !!
Similar to yourself I am no mechanic but I didnt have the common sense or patience to lurk around and suss things out. I just leaped in and bought the first one I saw...indeed i never even drove any other TVR to compare
Mrs J test drove a 4 litre Chim, then jumped into what became our Griff, test drove that and proudley declared that the Chim was "underpowered"....oh how we laughed 
Since then we havent looked back - I have some issues with the Red 'Un in terms of oil usage, coolant leaks, oil leaks etc but nothing serious. I choose to spend money on it (modwise boot release, Modwise front light kit, Steve Heath droplinks, extra speakers,new CD etc) however these are for our benefit. We took our Griff on last years Eurohoon and did 3,500 miles in 10 days...and had zero problems.
We seem to have hit on a good one - Mongoose Mike (on here) has driven it and liked it...and I respect his opinion.(its just that nobody can understand him as he's a 'carrot cruncher'
