I just wanted to run a couple of ideas by you for the Growl - I know its early but it may help decisions/sway thoughts as you sort out yur diaries for later in the year.
Friday Night - August 4th - Beer and Curry
If enough demand exists we are thinkng about hiring a mini bus and driver to pick us up and take us into Stratford for the evening. The outline idea is beer and curry (mmmm...curry!!
).
Last year myself and Mrs Jeffsy went into Stratford and back by Taxi and it was £15 each way
so hiring a minibus could be a lower cost option for all. I will get costs and suss out suitable drinking and eating venues prior to the GG (..it will be a labour of love!). NB If we just agree a leaving time then you could do your own thing in Stratford and just meet up for the lift back!
Initial thoughts/ideas on numbers, on this from you would be good, thanks.
Saturday afternoon - 6th - Sight seeing/shopping
As an option for those of you who may have ther halves who do not want to stand around and look at cars all day (strange I know...but they may be out there), another idea was to organise a mini bus into Stratford for the p.m. for sightseeing and shopping. Similar idea in tems of a drop off and collection at a certain time.
This may encourage (allow??) some more of you guys to come if the thought of the Growl isnt enough of a romantic, sensible use of time for everyone and their partners?
NB Please note that I have attempted to be non sexist in the above by judicious use of the word "partner"

I'm up for the curry and beer. We'll have to meet up SParkhill for one too if you're up for it. Menu under the glass, take your own beer, spoons optional sort of place is my fave.
If you come out the hotel and turn left there are a couple of restaurants/pubs to go to aside from what's at the hotel. Bear in mind that the BBQ is at the White Horse on the Saturday - it's the first pub you come to on the left - about 100m from memory (which is a tad blurry). Good selection of beers and real ales.

Can count me and the better half in for the 
and curry on friday and her for the shopping on saturday.
This being my first growl would be a good way of meeting some fellow owners and help me to mingle as the weekend go's on.
Also a little pointer for the saturday shopping trip i notice you have put PM, if you could make it late PM the better half's might spend less.

I have only booked the hotel for saturday night, but the Curry night does sound like a good idea, any other Grifters attending solo on the weekend? as i hate feeling like a spare whatsit as a wedding party. (I'm usually the one hiding in the kitchen at parties - mind you that has more to do with using the worktop as a support aid due to a peculiar instability in the leg department after a couple of drinks, don't understand it myself, they worked fine when i got there?)

mate - please do not wory about being on yur own - you wont be for long! Come on the Friday and just give me and Mrs J (Ruth) a shout when you get there. Once you get past the initial "Are you with the Growl?" question its dead easy...

Just ring the Hotel and use the ref numbers, although they seem to be booking in if you mention the Griff Growl too. Rates are the same for Friday night. And Sunday night too if you go for it again, Groucho.
