Just got back from not so sunny Lincs, had a mental drive back in the dark ,even with 100w bulbs and modwise kit, could't see a thing but I was travelling @warp speed!.Robs 5.5 engine is out of this world and words cannot describe the cars new performance, can't wait for some dry roads,as braking traction at 100mph is not for the faint hearted, roll on LeMans.

Congratulation.
Glad it has all worked out in the end. What did your engine make on V8D dyno?
Is this the most powerful Griffith in the UK?

That is really mental!
Mine did 315bhp/350 lbs at the wheels on the Austec dyno, but at that time it wasn't run in yet. It's definitely a bit faster now.

Wow. 398bhp, 438lbs. Thats got to be one of the highest torque figures I have ever seen, in a Rover V8 powered TVR.
Respect!!! Rob @ V8D

If anyone wants Robs number ,his mobile is 07951208383,you are best to call him on his home number in the evening on 01775822656(I have asked him if its ok to post his numbers and he's fine) the short 5.5 engine is £3500,no vat cam or lifters. He took my engine out, changed over all the bits, including re-grinding heads and refitting the engine including new flywheel and front pully for £5500.
Hes willing to take a part-ex on your exsisting motor too!,anyway off to wash the car as I 'am off to the Ace.

Thanks for the kind remarks, However i would just like to say that the figures james has quoted as he says he will lose a bit of torque due to the tvr manifolds etc... i would say in the car it would lose approx 25ftlb across the range, if you take the rule of thumb of what it makes at the wheels at 10 bhp then divide by 0.88 gerjo's engine is making 409 ftlb, so it must be somewhere close!

Rob - they have been head to head now!!

Seem fairly fast. James still getting used to it - but what a car now, make std Griff's seem like Fiesta's.

Did plenty of roll on's (on first 10 miles home before I had to turn off) from mid revs in 3rd through the rev range and all through 4th.

Mid revs to say 5 - 5.5k they are about same, but over (change light set at only 6k at the moment - limiter is at 6.5) 5.5 - 6k mine just leaves it in it wake and is gone(James was saying seems to have a slight misfire at top revs though).

TVR should have offered cars like this when they were new - but probably deemed way to fast back then - Utterly MENTAL Machines!
