I have been to Trackcar Solutions today for a power run on the old girl

The car is running a Piper 285 camshaft with everything else standard apart from no precats and a straight through exhaust.

Thanks to Joo for doing the run at such short notice

Now i am going in to the garage to take the diff out!! Its whining more than my ex.

No, but it was similar to the one that Joo had done in the rollers a few days before.

Thats a nice increase in performance.A std griff in good fettle made 252 there earlier today, bang on the money. So considering you have done just the cam and de-cat,thats a good return i'd say,you must be pleased

I was fairly impressed with a nearly standard lump and 13 years on its back

we put the graph as an overlay and it seemed to stack up with my car before the cam swap.

The graph is a bit bumpy because the right hand scale is alot smaller than the left hand scale, were the scales to be the same, the bumps would be smaller

Yes, it looked less pronounced on the dyno monitor but Jools moved the scale to get it to print on to the sheet.

Here's mine from V8D's engine dyno.
I wonder if the torque curve is so smooth because the dyno runs straight off the flywheel.
I'd be interested to know why they're so different. Rob? Jools? anyone?
That's a very interesting graph quinny. We both have the same cam,yet our graph curves are very different.I'm wondering just how much of this is down to the different additional mods? You have stage 3 heads,i dont, mine has mapped coilpacks, yours doesnt etc. etc .

Seems a shame that you think it will turn out to be " my dads bigger than yours" but i do find it interesting.
The only thing is it all seems like way too much cash for the gains? maybe i am a tightwad

Mine is fast enough for the queens highway well it was until the diff prob.

Quinny,i'm afraid this is the best that i can do .

I think you can see enough of the shape to work it out though.Peak power is at 5994 revs, and peak torque at 4531 revs.taken at Nobles in Chesterfield. Both axis are the same,so the crossover is at 5252rpm.This was when i had the std manifolds,pre-cats removed. We think that the main cat might have been partially blocked at this time, due to half the one pre-cat was missing!.Will be going to Track car solutions on Friday,as i've not been on the rollers scince i had the new exhaust manifolds and 'y' piece fitted

edited to change to uncle daves much better photo uploading service

Yes I can see that the torque axis has been offset and scaled for some reason (why on earth?), it also looks as if the V8D plot has been smoothed or averaged in some way, it is far smoother than the typical charts we see posted here. Anyone know if the V8D dyno charts have been deliberately smoothed?

Hopefully it won't turn into my dads bigger than yours, like you I find it interesting.

Same... despite not knowing what the hell you are talking about some of the time.. A lot to learn

Mongoose, try putting the dyno photo on Here.
Unlike fontango I don't limit image size and scrawl a watermark at the bottom. ()
