alarm & window fault

Not sure what I've done... Last weekend I removed the environmental control unit on my 96 500 to replace the cracked venner panel with carbon fibre. Disconnected the window switches and the the circuit board for the heater controls/LED's etc and left this unplugged for the week. I went to reconnect these yesterday which as suspected triggered the alarm, however it wont reset/operate correctly. The alarm arms correctly with the key fob and seems to work as it should (triggers intimitent siren and resets), but when disarmed the doors unlock ok but the alarm is triggered with a consistent siren that wont reset - the windows also dont work at all. The only thing I can think might have affected this is breaking one of the LED's on the circuit board. Surely this is not the problem? Currently having to drive with the alarm armed and try not to move when driving - Any suggestions ?

hmmm my windows have just stopped working on my early Griff after I disconnected the battery to recharge it and have also been fiddling with the switch panel in front of the gearlever..... alarm seems to be OK and car starts OK and no sirens...but windows have packed up. let me know if you find a fix?? thanks!
