which fuse?

my windows have stopped working - and I don't have a book to tell me which fuse it is. can anyone tell me which fuse it is (eg working from left to right)on an early Griff 4.3?
or is there a diagram online somewhere? thanks.

According to my bible, the window fuses on an early Griff, are either 4th or 12th from the left, in the fuse panel in the passenger footwell, and rated at 30 amps

thanks for info. unfortunately neither 4th/12th along is a 30amp, but I checked them anyway, and the two 30ampers that are in the fusebox as well, but they all are OK. any other ideas why my windows suddenly stop working? I have just disconnected the battery to re-charge it, and have also been fiddling with the heater fan switch but can't see why that should cause it? is there a relay for the windows? thanks again. Steve

are the heater controls in any way connected to the window switches? do they share a common feed for instance? clutching at straws now...!!

thanks! v useful although my fusebox seems different to this - my car was the factory press car in 92 (J524MHG) and so might have a 4.x or 500 fusebox I suppose as the car was regularly hacked about! thanks again though - very much appreciated.

There are about 8 different layouts that have been used over the years BTW. Caused me a lot of grief when I wrote the bible!

thanks - have now confirmed that this is indeed the layout I have (it just looked wrong on paper but in the light of day...) and the odd 40amp fuse is for the fans which makes sense. Have also fixed my window fault by pulling the heater fan switch out slightly (it won't come out completely, frustratingly) which has miraculously caused the windows to work again! Since I had been pulling this switch about a bit (I really want to remove it as it appears to be jammed in at an odd angle which caused the perspex to split) I can only assume I have a dodgy connection behind there and so I suppose I'll have to remove the centre console which I really wanted to avoid - unless there's another way to remove the heater fan switch and get to the wiring behind? yours hopefully....etc.

I have photocopied and laminated the fuse and relay layouts and put this behind the drop down piece in passenger footwell - always handy then if need it. Bag of fuses, relays by the side of the battery too.

Steven - are you coming to the Growl? Glad you've got the car back. Last i heard it was in Gorners.

good idea FFG - might do the same! Yes I have it back and with help from Shane at SFR finally got the suspension sorted - don't think I can make the growl as I'm away around then but will try. Hoping to go to the next Lancs section meet on March 1st though.
