Getting soooooo fedup with this fan now!

I only have 1 fan working, checked- fuses, relay, cleanliness of connections, changed otter, the 2nd fan works when I swap over the connectors. Its 94 griff 500 pre serp. User Manual says 1 fuse 1 relay I think this is wrong, I knoweth not a lot about electrics in cars but I can see that the whole installtion on a griff is crap. Badly designed cheaply done and not to be relied on. Does anyone know how to rewire the fans still using the otter switch, does a diagram exist?

Im at TVRCC Bulls head meet on Sunday and would love to talk to someone with some sound advice.

When I have got this done I have a mod-wise kit to fit see separate thread. HELP REQ`D

My fan electrics had another relay fitted, basically it took a feed from the original to switch the relay, there was a 12v source that came from the back of the alternator, the relay was mounted on the inner wing, I believe this was done by TVR when it was abroad, it’s possible someone has done a similar mod on yours.

Is it ok to come off the alternator or should it come off the battery

Rus,i dont want to sound condescending,but are you certain the new relay isnt a changeover one?If it was a changeover,you would only get one fan working.

I found that one of my fans was wired in to the "heated seats" relay.

If its the top kit you can get away with just one relay as it halves the current draw from the fuse box. Its been a while since i had a one relay set up but i am pretty sure it didnt have the metal dual output type relay, just a cross over with two fans connected to the output, well that was mine !!

A changeover relay has two output pins,but only one can be live at any one time,i.e. simplified,it switches the output over between the two terminals.If you have a 5 pin twin output,non changeover type,then when the relay is switched from the otter switch,both of the outputs become live at the same time.
