Not the Griff, that's brilliant as ever, it's just that since I decided to change it for something else I've just been given the runaround by timewasters responding to my advert. It's only advertised on here, couldn't be bothered with Autotrader or anything else, but all I've had so far is people who phone up saying they're definitely interested etc, only to never call again! Either that or they're offering stupid money. I find people like that very odd and tiring. Is it really that difficult trying to sell a mint condition Griff these days at a reasonable price?? I could do with somebody restoring my faith in people's nature here!!

I know how you feel,I had the same problem selling my Wedge,about fifteen people phoned from various sources.The first person to come and see it bought it.Hang on in there!

Par for the course in my experience sadly.

I estimate that for every 10 callers, 7 of them will say I'm very interested and will come round or will call you on such and such a day when I'm about to come round and they never show up / I never hear from them again.

I find people say things like "I'll come round and have a look at it" instead of "that's too expensive, that's higher milage, that's not really the colour I wanted".

It's very frustrating, but all part of selling. The trick is to generate enough interest to get them round as once someone's made that effort is surprising how easy it is to complete the rest of the sale.

Stick at it.

That looks like a lovely car your selling there,and at a very reasonable price.I honestly think that your not doing yourself any favours by putting in the dyno graph stuff and power figures though,your on a hiding to nothing there imho.Its the right colour and spec to sell well,so other than that i'd just hang on in there.Dont drop your price though,i'tll look too cheap then,i'd pay that for a good '93 500 of the same spec.
Forgot to add,a nice clean underbonnet pic wouldn't hurt either

Some years ago I was selling a cheap BMW 3-series convertible. You can imagine the geezers and dodgy foreigners who rang me. One bloke, attempting to strike a bargain, said there was a very similar car advertised for less money. His tactic failed; I agreed that it sounded like an excellent price, far better value than mine, and suggested that he bought it. He then sounded a bit confused as I hung up on him

That's fair enough, the only reason i added them on was to make a point that although the car is 10 years old now, it's still mechanically in fine working order so didn't mean for too much to be read into it. That's basically why I added something about them only being relevant to what Austec would normally expect to see.

I can see where your coming from Chris.but there are a couple of problems.Firstly,not all prospective buyers realise that TVR tell fibs about the claimed power outputs.Secondly,Austec's dyno is quie well known to read higher than others,so those that do know TVR fib a bit,might also be well informed enough to wonder what the power output would be on other dyno's if you see what i mean.Trying to explain how good it is using this kind of info calls up more questions than it gives answers.I would just say how mechanically good it is,how well it runs and go's and leave it at that imho.
Its a lovely car and i'm sure it will sell,just don't get desperate and start to underrate it,otherwise you'll end up 'giving it away',as i said before,its already a very fair price i feel.

Sorry I hope this wasnt an overly silly question. You have not highlighted 'No' on the p/x section on the advert, so thats why I thought I would ask.
