turning off immobiliser ?

Entered the world of griffith ownership a few weeks ago and all been going well so far except can't work out how to turn off immobiliser if the alarm is not on, which is getting a bit frustrating.

Immobiliser sets ok and from handbook should be able to press either button on key fob to turn it off, but end up having to turn alarm on and then off to get started.

Previous owner didn't seem to have a problem so am I missing something obvious??

Car is late 95 with 2 buttons on key fob for alarm. Any sugestions welcome.

If it's like my 95 Chimaera, you had to press the unset button "half down" to turn off the immobiliser.

I don't know about your system specifically, but on many systems you switch the ignition on, then press the keyfob button to disable the immobiliser. Pressing the button with the ignition off will set / unset the alarm.

On some cars you have turn the ignition on, press the button on the key fob, then turn the ignition off and on, and start. A right pain, its almost easier to alarm / un alarm instead.
